thx for all the replies
wanna ask this, does a higher mah rated batt gives more run time than a lower one? does higher also means more power to the same motor??
if so is it more resonable to get 2 x1700 mah than a 3400mah??since 2x1700 gives 3400mah also, thx everyone.
also can someone gives me a quote on how much a charger would cost?i dun need those charge in 20mins charger,a resonable one will do.

thx for all the replies wanna ask this, does a higher mah rated batt gives more run time than a lower one? does higher also means more power to the same motor?? Assuming both r running the same motor, Yes, higher Mah batteries will give longer run time. No, Higher Mah does not mean more power, you need Higher Voltage 4 that, that's why serious grip racers are willing to spend $$$ for Matched cells that'll are confirmed Higher voltages if so is it more resonable to get 2 x1700 mah than a 3400mah??since 2x1700 gives 3400mah also, thx everyone. The 1700 Mah battery pack are the same size as the 3400 Mah ones, U can fit 2 batteries pack in your car ? also can someone gives me a quote on how much a charger would cost?i dun need those charge in 20mins charger,a resonable one will do. You can get an overnight charger for about $30, But I strongly advise you to invest in a Peak charger, About $200 - Reason is that you can charge NiMh batteries at 3-4 Amperes and NiCd batteries at 5-6 Amperes. The higher the charge current, the better the discharge (When you run your car)Hope that helps !

thx dude. for the 2nd question,i'm saying if getting 2x1700mah is more 'wu hua' than a single 3300mah batt.cos u said higher mah rating gives longer runtime, then 2x1700 gives ard the same runtime as a single 3300mah batt right?
$200 for a charger kinda ex leh.ur overnight charger can charge at wat ampere?thx!

I guess so.......... But with 2 batteries, you would have to change the battery. Slow chargers seldom goes over 1 A charge rate, usually the better ones will indicate the input eg: 110/240 V and the output 12/9/6/3 V and A/hr. Good Luck !

3300 mah battery oso save time on charging, long play time but you will need to [glow=yellow,2,300]time[/glow] your play time to prevent your car from over heated. there is always good and bad. See how you can over come it. thx dude. for the 2nd question,i'm saying if getting 2x1700mah is more 'wu hua' than a single 3300mah batt.cos u said higher mah rating gives longer runtime, then 2x1700 gives ard the same runtime as a single 3300mah batt right? $200 for a charger kinda ex leh.ur overnight charger can charge at wat ampere?thx!

But you guys are running stock silver canned , 27 turns motors right ? If not overgeared, these motors would be warm and not overheated even after running the full pack of 3300 Mah battery (My defination of "overheated" is when the ESC goes into themal shutdown or the shrinkwarp on the battery melts or any of the solder on the motor turns liquid.) Incidentally, how long do you guys run the cars on average (During practice and during a race) ?

My way of measuring the temp is using my fingers. If u cannot touch the motor for about 3 secs than it is too hot. But dun worry about overgearing cause for drift u can gear up to 4 and the motor will still be fine (Cause no Grip)
Any question can ask me during the next meet up. Confirm i will be there

I agree with Rubbish, from what I've seen, Drifters should not have overheated motors from overgearing as there simply isn't that much resistance from the grip of the tyres. If your motor is overheated, most likely culprit is the drivetrain or gearmesh. I do not agree with Rubbish on using the finger (Esp'middle one ;D) to test the motor temp. If your motor is really badly overheated, it can be hot enough to melt the soldering of the motor connection wires !!! You would'nt touch a heated up soldering Iron now would you ? I normally use a Infra red temp probe, that way I know exactly the motor temp (45 to 60 degree C)

;D ;D ;D
Or you can do like the nitro guys, .......just spit saliva at the motor and see if it goes "Sizzzzzzzzzz !"
Temp probe nowadays quite cheap, it used to be $300+ for one in the late 80 then fell to about $170 in 2001. Now you can get one for about fifty bucks.

Hey guys,
Thinking of getting an XB Pro for my gf nephew. Now do I need ball diffs for this thing and ball bearings? How much will these parts cost?
Also, what it the ESC limit on the unit that comes with it? Can I put a 27 turn stock motor in it.
Also what is the price of the XB Pro kits as I am not in Singapore at the moment.
I am trying to weigh up the cost as maybe it would be better to buy a TT01 or a TL01 and buy all the electronics and stuff separate which may end up the same cost as buying it RTR.
Thx

XB is only just for you to move the car. there is two version in singpaore. 1- $220 with CPR Unit (Electronic Speed Controller) and toy Tx.. 2- $360 fully assembled TT-01 chassis, featuring 4WD drive train, 4-wheel independent suspension and electronic speed controller (23t). Set includes Expec SP TTU-03 transmitter. For more info on XB can read here

Thx ball bearing is around $40. CPR unit not sure can use how many turn motor, but 27t shall be okie. ESC unit can use until 23t motor. (prefer this that CPR unit) TT01 Kit $180 with ESC included. ;D TL01 around $130 TL01LA around $160 My 5 cent advise. get a tt01 kit @ 180, then get better AM Transmitter around 100+ . = 280. (but you have to setup your Car) Battery 3300 mAh @ $55 + 4 for deans plug. Charger 150 for a LCD and selectable High A. Much better then the Tamiya wall charger and faster. Over all Budget for this hobby is S$489.
