180 for a TT-01 KIT 200 to get a decent charger and battery 100++ to get a decent transmiter cause the XB kit provide can not make it. 3.50 for pvc to start drifting can get cheap at winnies at orchard plaza think she will offer for new drifters.

Hi guys thank man u all are so helpful. Anyway i went down to winnie today. I must say she's really friendly. She recommand me to get the TT-1. Then she say is not the rtr type so must fix myself. She quoted me around 300. Got tx and charger. Is tat a good package? Coz i not sure what type of tx and charger she offering. U guys got any idea what might those be? If i'm not wrong she said something like the tx is better than the rtr one.

Her Package for beginners:
TT01 Kit (with ESC and stock motor) Sanwa Blazzer (Tx, Rx, Crystal, 2x Servo) Battery (1700mAh) Wall charger.
all above S$300.
If you wan to upgrade your Charger to pulse charger just need to add S$100++ (depend on which type of charger)

hello everyone, i'm new to the forum. posted something about myself in the "introduce yourself" section so if you want you can check it out there when you have nothing better to do ;D
anyways, i'm totally new to this, so i've got some questions!
1. is the Tx on the car, or the one that you hold in your hand? if it's one, then i'll just assume that Rx is the other?
2. what are servos and crystals? what do they do?
|
|
|
Post by canshot on May 18, 2005 22:02:12 GMT 7
Transmitter(tx) ish the 1 which u do the controllin of steerin.. like u mentioned, the 1 u hold.. the Receiver(rx) is the 1 in placed wif the car wif the Crystal slot for u to insert... crystals have certain frequency and they come in pair whn u buy em... itz fer u to insert into both tx & rx to sorta make em.. radio controlled..? wirelesss...? ;D ;D well as for the servo..., they do the steerin for the car.. connected to the rx as well...

ahhh okayokay thanksthanks i have been enlightened! hahaha sorry i'm really noob at this. so in getting the TT-01 (non-RTR) i can get a good Tx, instead of paying RTR price and buying better Tx on top of that right? so uhm, where does the ESC come in then? because in my other post you mentioned that replace the stock Tx is costly because it houses the ESC and Tx in one unit. also, these crystal things, can i change the frequency as and when i like, or are they set, meaning one crystal has one frequency? if they only have one frequency, does that mean that i have to look through all the crystal frequencies of all the drifters here, and then choose one that's not already taken?

a non RTR tt-01 if im not wrng, u can get the esc wif the kit frm winnie.. (@ orchard plaza) thn u just need a tx set & batt... (in normal cases, a transmitter comez wif 2 servo & a receiver alreade)
eg: non RTR tt-01, transmitter set, battery.. (these will be able to get ur car running alreade.. ) these will cost abt 300...
whereas the RTR kit inclusive of everithing cost 220.. but it has many many disadvantages to go for the long run...
so why not top up more money to get 1 that has less restrictions towards modificationz (for futre benifitz!) ;D ;D
PS: read the post posted by bryant abve, thats Winnie's package for beginner drifterz... =]

frequency of the Xtals dependz on ur tx & rx.... there are couple of bandz... (AM, FM.......)
normally AM.. for Sanwa Blazer for eg...
thn broken to 3 main type of frequencies.. 27, 45, 7..5? mHz...
it can onli read frequencies within a range of 'numberz'
so if ur rx is 27mHz based,
u gotta get Xtals which are in the range of it... eg: 26.995.. 27.115..
sometimes frequencies do clashes.. thats why ppl get diff pair or xtals to prevent accidentz... ;D

haha alright, thanks for all your help! i was looking through the second-hand section, bluescart and some others have some TT-01s for sale with hop ups and all, i was actually thinking about those. but then i figured that i might as well get it brand new, and then add hop ups myself, that way i can learn more about it and hopefully gain some sense of satisfaction or something heh. yea i'll try to make my way down to one of your drift meets one day. i do notice that you try to get more people to go down, rather than have to explain everything on the forums not that it's a bad thing, i think it's good to get forum-goers more involved in the actual scene. but people like me tend to be shy and stuff like that, haha hope you don't mind.

ha alright you guys, thanks for all your help. now that i've got some terms sorted out, at least i know a bit more about r/c drifting and stuff. but in the end i'm still gonna have to wait a long while before i can clear my debts and then start saving up again for a kit but i still have a few more questions, if you don't mind what's the ESC? what does it do, and where does it go, on the car or Tx? i really hope to be able to go down to one of your drift meets some time soon..
