Hi guys, i post this msg at: www.rctech.net/forum/showthread.php?s=14364f66f747f998cf7a432c13dc4d28&postid=1317538#post1317538---------------------------------------- Hi Guys, i'm thinking of getting a electric Rc car after purchasing one "toy rc car" afew mths ago. Some brand cyclone quickdrive RTR, at east coast marine cove. $59 for the "so-called" Evo then the add on for the sponge bumper, change gear box, lower back suspension blah blah sums up to $150. And the sales person "said" it can go up to 50km/hr. "like real". Anyway cut the story short. Any kind soul out there to recommend a electric Rc car? 1/10 size and reasonably fast for on-road. Thanks! ------------------------------------------------------ Then i saw sgdift website. interesting! Anyway, i pass by kovan very often and there's once i saw you guys playing, the DRIFTING. Nice! I wanna try that too someday,SOON! By the way any advise for the above mention msg and about drifting later? Thanks!

Hi i think it will be better if u can go down and meet us at Kovan this coming Tues cause some of us dun really like to type on the net and also can really see what drifting is all about and if u are interested we can also try to help u find a lobang to start RC Drifting
When u are down there u can try looking for Zhi Rong, or Rubbish (ME).
SO hope to see u there

Yeah... Rubbish very helpful. Helped me set up my car... Thanks. (But I still don't know your real name... Sorry... keke) Zhi Rong is another guy to look out for, at first I thought he looked a bit fierce, but found out that is not the case... BTW, if you are on a tight budget, go to stargek for Tamiya XB. I got mine for total $260. Just need PVC and 8 AA batteries to start to drift. Can add hop ups yourself if you have the budget... But that is enough for the time being... Drifting looks easy, but defintely not the case... I already cracked my shell liao...

paiseh bsplenden, forgot to reply ur pm.was very busy, heard that u got ur XB,wah good leh.unfortunately i cant meet u ppl on tues night cos i'm still serving ns.only got to practice at the basketball court downstairs. one question for u ppl,i just mounted pvc on the car but its seems bumby for the ride.however, the car goes smooth when the shell is removed.any comments on that?? and how u guys secure ur pvc tightly??i scard the whole thing will fly out if i squeeze all the way.i tried using foam type double sided tape to increase the diameter of the rims and push it thru the pvc.but still afraid leh.any better ways??thx!

where is this kovan place ? may want to drop by to look see look see BTW this place can try out gp drif car? Take MRT to Kovan MRT station. It is located along the NEL. Walk out to Heartland Mall, walk into the mall, and straight out at the other end. Continue walking and the place is at the right side of the hawker centre and if you are there on Tuesday after 730pm, you will most likely hear some "Wree" sound from the PVC tyres. Note: You should look at your right side BEFORE you reach Mac.

Dunno if it's a good idea to try out GP drift car there as the place is surrounded by HDB residential flats, if one of them complains about the noise we might just lose the venue for drifting ! where is this kovan place ? may want to drop by to look see look see BTW this place can try out gp drif car?

Dunno if it's a good idea to try out GP drift car there as the place is surrounded by HDB residential flats, if one of them complains about the noise we might just lose the venue for drifting ! Tony is rite...bcoz we had moved twice from our usual 'track' due to some not appropriate things tat some of our drifters and frenz had done. One was due to running a GP car...as for the other we shall not mention. At the same time...I would like to bring up another point. For drifters who want to introduce this hobby to frenz...esp those who own HIGH PERFORMANCE RIDE...can we try not to attract too much attention by again doing certain not appropriate things as we are in a HDB area... I have no prejudice against anyone who own super ride...coz I am a lover myself. In fact we hope more ppl can come down and join us. But the fact remains...tat blue boys dun like big crowds esp when there are many soup up rides...hope no one is offended. Last but not least, we hope kovan can be a place for us to stay and we welcome anyone who are interested to come and join us.... ;D ;D ;D

Took me awhile to realise you're refering to 1:1 scale ride ;D (Old aredi, very slow !) Yes I totally agree with daBomb, If you dress up your ride like 2Fast2Furious, you'll attract more attention, esp if you try to drive like in the movie ! Tony is rite...bcoz we had moved twice from our usual 'track' due to some not appropriate things tat some of our drifters and frenz had done. I'm greatly happy to see this sport or area of RC expanding the way it is and there is so much fun people are enjoying.
Since the topic is on discipline, I would like to bring out 1 more point ...
Littering.
Please throw all used cups or any other stuffs away as you leave the place.
Usually poor Zhirong and gang who took pain to set up the track and clear up the place after all's done have to throw litter left by others, I think this is just uncool.
We shall show a little bit of respect and appreciation to Zhirong for the hard work done to get the SG Drifters happening, we owe you this ! Cheers @!

Yeah Like Bluescat said, He got this car from Marine Cove. I had a car long time ago and right now because of Bluecat, he kinda tickled it and it recently rekindled. And because i am starting over i consider myself an newbie. Presently I am in the process of getting my hands on a GP car and also an EP car. I'd prolly want to save the fuss and get a RTR XB Tamiya. When that time comes me and BC will need a lot of help. Also wonder if you guys could give some pointers on GP cars. I've been reading the material we have here and you guys are quite informative and helpful. Hope to meet you all soon.

Right now, the venue we drifting on every Tues nite is not very suitable for reving GP cars.
Why dun you get your EP car first and master drifting on that, maybe when we find another suitable location where we can make all the noise we want without anyone complaining then go get a GP car ? I'm just itching to see how well my VoneRR can drift ! ;D
