tt01 is not so lousy...it is suppose to have sound unless u grease the wheel shaft like mad so it wun sound like a grass cutter, but tat part will be so dirty, it turns off appetite... and b4 posting this u should take time to read the newbie corner, all u nid to noe about drifting and also go to drift meets often, asking tt01 qns is easy cos almost all in sgdrifters started wif tt01

is the car bouncing a little like the tires are gripping? just curous because i have a tt-01r & i had the spec d tires that come with the 01D & they did what i think you are talking about. . .always at the sharp turns to drift. my car would start sliding, but grip at the same time causing it to joggle like it was going to fall apart..
try pvc or abs & you will never go back to the oem drift tires.

yeah, thats my first shell. the exhaust area i originally had a sticker w/ the fake cutout & fake exhaust tip. looked a little too "shell" with no realism so i carefully cut the exhaust area as the sticker acted as a template & purchased a yokomo exhaust kit from towerhobbies & an additional foam bumper for the rear. i slightly cut the foam to form fit the muffler to make it look like the real n1 or hks exhaust exiting the rear in a 45 degree tilt up & to the side. kinda scrapes sometimes, but unless you are an ant, you never see the very bottom.
as far as springs, i swap from stock to the shorties red & blue. i have not tried my pvc or abs on the springs yet, only on the stock & i can still pull sideways for quite a while. before i tried the pvc or abs, like i said i used the drift tires & even practiced w/o a shell on the pavement to minimize noise & sometimes in my garage slick surface just to get used to what the abs or pvs was going to feel like. no harsh noise or bumpy ride anymore!
good luck with your project & keep practicing!

Yeah, like what sidewaysr34 says, if you wanna really drift almodt like the real thing, PVCs the only way to go, though I didn`t tried out the ABS tyres. Those spec D tyres are way too grippy, more like power slides, maybe can do real drifting on ice only. For the springs, I used red for front with spacers and stock TT-01 srpings for rear on myTT-01D chassics, and it`s drifts like a dream... BTW, where can get those ABS tyres here leh, never seen much around. Can anyone advised?

well, actually there is a black abs pipe that youcan get from any plummer supply. it looks like is slightly thinner than pvc of the same size & is about 50% lighter than pvc. it is a very odd material & when cut it has pores on the inner part.
abs is like the middle-man (for me at least) between the drift tires & the pvc. it has a slight more grip than the pvc to gain speed, but they are no where near as grippy as the drift tires.
i purchased a set of 12 for a little under $12 on ebay from a guy that cuts the pipe perfectly & bevels the lip of the ring for a perfect tire. i just bouht a black abs pipe from a plummer store & i can probably never get it as nice & shaved as the ebay guy, but they can be for roughing up.
i also thought about taking my dremel & putting little slices across my pvc, but not too deep, just to give a little grip if abs is short. . . i figure it couldn't hurt since pvc is dirt cheap. my .02¢

woah guys.. PVC really works well, Less Noiser than Tamiya D-Tyres.. ;D but for me 1st time the car went hell break loose man... More practise should do the job.. Well I'm going to get some guys doing CNCs to Cut the PVCs for me. Now running on 4 PVC (not the Same Width Sawn out Pieces) hehe.. Will there Be any Problems? After 2 Session at Bukit Panjang MSCP alone , Front Gear got sound already, now going to operating theatre to open up and check the car... :-[Practise first then meet you all up at meets to exchange pointers and tips.
