Finally it arrives. Any idea on the pricing? (I still remember that I so love that particular decal 'No guts no glory!' that I make an enquiry if the store do sell FROG decals separately when I purchase my first kit, the Original HORNET)
How time flies....

... just being curious, if anyone bought this FROG kit, will he bring it out on the dirt track?
Tamiya did keep the original parts etc... but that was 20yrs old technology liao! Probably I will feel heartache if there are even scratches on the bodyshell...
... then buy for old time sake???

Electric Telemetry Combo Pack by SPEKTRUM If you’re driving with Spektrum’s DSM 2.4 GHz systems, you can now add real time telemetry to complete your advantage. Comes with: Handheld Unit Only On-Board Module Only Battery/Motor Temperature Sensor RPM Sensor Lap Counter/Timer Sensor Sensor Mount Hardware: Electrics Battery Voltage Lead It’s a tool that no serious racer will want to do without – a tool that gives you the kind of information that helps you tweak your car for maximum performance. And it's all packaged in one convenient box. If you’re a serious racer, you’re probably way ahead of us in figuring out Spektrum Telemetry’s benefits. But we’ll list them nonetheless. There are benefits like engine-saving feedback to help maximize performance while preventing costly failures and rebuilds. And the elimination of dumped rx packs means no more crashes or DNF’s due to battery failure in nitro-powered vehicles. Besides that, Spektrum Telemetry’s lap timing helps you analyze the effectiveness of tire and gear selections, suspension tweaks, etc. Plus it backs up race organizers’ lap counting systems. Add its RPM sensing to give you a handle on your car’s actual speed, plus the Quality of Signal feature to monitor RF link strength, and you’ve got the whole package.

Wah.... are we driving F1 car?
These systems may well become standard items in the future international RC races used by the pros like Hirosaka, Hara etc... But do we really need them at our level?

Post by GTO on Oct 21, 2005 9:39:57 GMT 7
yes...but not a must have. strange as it may seems, how do we quantify our car's performance? By subjective feeling? Not necessarily be at hirosaka level then we need this stuff, all the more reason for us who have less sensitive feel for the car can use it as a definitive gauge to check what's happening on one's car with certain confidence and not assumptions. How do one draw a straight line without a ruler/tool assist? If one's not happy with his/her drawing then this is the item worth to consider.
