???strange, the Kawada D2s don't recommend any insert to be used. Which means softest, which means more grip. I would try put the hardest insert like TA grey into it to make less contact patch.

Post by RowdyRowdyPiper on May 21, 2005 7:24:38 GMT 7
hmm i agree... i too do feel tat a harder insert would allow the tires to loose traction easier... mayb can check wif dabomb if he did put in any insert when he tried those tires

Post by GTO on May 21, 2005 10:03:45 GMT 7
i think most likely he didn't put anything in it.
Post by canshot on May 21, 2005 10:05:42 GMT 7
but i think itz better if u put some hard insertz in the back like mentioned... easier to lose traction.. thn no insert in the frnt! ;D ;D

i think most likely he didn't put anything in it. you got it right..i didn;t put anything.. at first think its stupid to use something so soft..later come to think of it" under inflated " tyres also lose traction..

I just read the D2 instruction paper, said just glue it and no insert. I did it but didn't glue it down and it wasnt sliding at all I remember you've mention that this tyre doesn't work (and what a waste of bucks that is) so start improvising. So far it doesn't turn up the way i want it to be.

what tires are you using kawada.... since the hpi ones not available yet... if can have a base setup on rubbers then it would b a gd start... will keep u guys posted... most likely will try my changes on tarmac
Post by GTO on May 27, 2005 12:31:59 GMT 7
tarmac, that would be good. I am having serious doubt that the HPI D can drift at all. How the hell they did it in their US vidz?

Post by RowdyRowdyPiper on May 27, 2005 13:48:38 GMT 7
tried the kawadas' on tarmac after making some setup changes...
result: can do powerslide but to me not like driftin... its not as fun compared to pvc...
another thing i will do the same tire tweaking(must keep secret first ;D ) on the kawadas as test was quite positive...
