I had spoken to the officer just now, and guess wat?
WE HAVE A HIGH CHANCE ON OPENING THIS CLUB REALLY SOON
However, there will be some changes for this club. Officer wish this club is NOT just for RC drifting. Anything about CARS, no matter is RC or not, r to be related. Any members who have other CARS hobbies other den RC, pls PM me yr related hobbies as i can plan for future programm. Another thing is the name of this club must be change. Sad to say there must not have the word 'Drift' inside. I hope members can think of a more suitable club title asap.

i last time say liao le...the cca cannot just for rc drift although tat's the main agenda...so i think better if we meet up for a short while say maybe 22 nov wed or 24 nov fri to decide on the club activities...but then again the final decision lies wif kido...

hey, i am not from sp but wld like to butt in with some ideas.
since the officer suggested including real cars, you guys may want to just set up a section for real car enthusiasts. there is no need for them to have real cars, just need to be interested and all that. i know people (myself included) who can just sit down for hours and talk about car specs and modifications etc. then club activities can include visiting motor shows, maybe invite ITE automotive lecturers to give guest mini lectures etc and visit races in Sepang.
if not, you might want to propose to the officer that this becomes a RC Motoring Club. So you include tourers and offroaders. but that might get really messy since there are so many diff scales and types used for touring and offroad. so in such a case, you guys might just want to propose including 1/10 EP tourers 1st and if there is demand, then expand to include offroad and GP.
anyway, here's wishing billy and gang good luck with your proposal. i might pop by ur campus once u guys get a track up and running. ;D

Yup NP will be open to all categories of r/c cars i believe. That's what the officer incharge wants
I think opening to real cars too would be awkward to be honest.

Thanks for all the "hop up" guys ;D Yup, i will include visits to any cars or RC preformances around singapore for the time been. Hope in the future, can org a small trip to malaysia for their next D1 series. I will try my best to allow ONLY drifting in the RC section in our club as members use SGDrifters forum to know updates about the club. Since SGDrifters is also closely related to real car drifting, tat will just be our chance As for now, the club had change it name from "SP Drifters" to "SP style wheelers"

actually.. i think we can include other stuff like buggies n things.. even they drift.. only offroad..
but ofcoz.. we give more priority to drifters.. like our funds n stuff.. first go to ppl who wan stuff for driftin, after that anything else..
and mayb like make drift car compulsary thn if ppl wan some other type of wheels, it will be on their own.. up to them kinda thig..

like wat others say...we can have all categories of rc but do not be biased towards the drift or else touring or buggy wun join...i was thinking tat we also take part in touring races...then we mix drifting into touring races...then really cool if can drift thru corners than just cut a turn...tat's the kind of drift i want...i maybe break the rule a little...be the only person to drift without pvcs wuahahaha

Though I'm not from SP either, just a suggestion as well Since most CCA and stuff have yearly competitions and yearly events, perhaps you guys can consider a 'field trip' kind of thing to the D1 event in Msia? But I'm not sure if it takes place yearly and whether it clashes with the study periods. Might be easier than trying to organise drift competitions and stuff. anyway, here's wishing billy and gang good luck with your proposal. i might pop by ur campus once u guys get a track up and running. ;D Good luck to you guys too! Hope to see the SP girls... er... race track soon! ;D ;D ;D

I think u all can think of the impact of a high speeding RC car bang to our kit. Tat is nt a kidding joke..

i still cant help thinking tat including everything of cars for the club is possible billy its simply too WIDE. think about it.. if u simply branch into the engine area of a car.. kaoz .. ma chiam get sucker punched lar. and there are so many kind of engine types and layouts and stuff ... omfg if u play rc cars.. u shud be interested in real cars too rite ? but including everything related to cars is impossible. goin to d1 events is feasible coz related to drifting mah interest in racing cars and goin to racing events also can bah. i think the line of focus for ur club muz be drawn clearly of till wad extend ur club wud go into about cars ? and kuang .. driftin thru a corner faster than a touring car is possible ... 1. if u have a super uber hard and light, vitually impossible to break, chasiss 2. with super duper fastest brushless motor out of this world. and when u throttle u can see and smell burn rubber touring tires kind .. then MAYBE u can get to see a car drifting corners faster than touring cars in which i think is almost inhuman for anyone to own and remotely control .. and seems almost a dream .. real life 1:1 car goin drift style faster than grip style is possible . RC 1:10 drift faster than touring is still also POSSIBLE.. u can try and do update us wad ur findings!

Drifting is about style and sideways. Not on speed or smoke...
yap you can drift very fast but your drifting sideway not nice = NOT DRIFTING
When you can drift without mistake or banging into other object, then you upgrade your motor.
else spare some money for spare part replacement.

the officers very funny they at first say they dun want the drift inside...then they recommend the name...anyway..nice name though...
i think the main thing is to have people drifting first...i think tat it's better to include sum touring cars as well...erm...another thing to do is to make sure np also will have this cca...maybe we'll go to np again during dec to "protest" to the office there ba haha

Maybe you could have a drifting compy? Last time I wanted to setup a Gaming club at SP, but have to hold a compy...Then in the end I got very sian of it so left the plan aside...
To get the number of drifters...Just invite some people like the alumni or other schools...But never mention that they are from other school thats all...
Did you mention any benefits that will come with this hobby? Like having a hobby will let students concentrate on it and less other 'unhealthy' stuff...Just say anything to make the CCA looks great...
If alumni can join...I would also like to come back and play...Haha...
