Hey guys I'm Pedro from Portugal and i just love your videos...they're really awsome. I'm planning to buy myself a car and start doin' my own drifts, but in Portugal RC is an expensive hobby...just for you to get an idea, an TT01 is around 300€ what makes around $350/400... auch.... I'm planning to buy a HPI sprint2 with an 15 turn motor and a LRP ESC...what do you think? What number of turns do you recomend for drifting? Keep driftin'...and keep sending out videos!!! ;D btw..this should be on newbies corner..if any moderator think this is on the wrong place take it away.. I just wanted u to know where u are known..

Majority of us use stock silver can motor.. i believe there are a few who use 23t before...but anything lower than that is probably not recommended...
Too fast = Major Damage

i strongly suggest that you just use a stock silver motor...
reason due to, it is much easier to control... damage level might be up a little but i believe not too much as traction has already been limited so no matter how powerful your motor, it would still be the same...
Cheers.

hmm..ok....thanks for the tip. ;D
I have a few doubts in the painting of the Shell...My experience with painting with cans tells me that it's not that trivial as some may think... to do a clean work without that horrible dripping is not very easy...Anyone has tricks/tips that can tell me?
Thanks a lot ;D

Welcome to SGD, don worry about posting wrong thread, cos we are very friend pp, we will inform anyone if there are some misunderstanding. Stock Silver can is cheaper and theres no need for maintance to the brush. The spray of colour, try to spray thin layers after another. Or get an air brush ;D

its quite easy to prevent drips... just make sure that you dont spray on the same area for too long and too close... spray with movement... move about when you are pressing on the nozzle...
like Bryant said, thin layers after thin layers makes a very good job... dont be too anxious to have it done...
Cheers.

Nice to see some other people, from Portugal, interested in drifting. If u want i can give some assistence, to the best of my knowledge. I live in Lisbon (sou tuga) and I find this "sport" much more fun than speed driving. Just too bad most people at rc race tracks doesn't have a clue what's drifting....everybody thinks that i'm a completelly screw up when it comes to control a rc car ;D Keep in touch.

1st - You need a car. Electric or nitro, doesn't matter. Since you have both, you won't have a problem, but I would advise to go with the electric car for starters.
2nd - Super secret tires made of ABS (not available in Portugal, but you can buy it on e-bay) or PVC plenty of it in AKI Stores. Just need to but a piece ot tube with the inner diameter equal to the diameter or the rim. Then cut some "tires" out of that tube and glue them to the rims.
3rd - Start with a nice base setup. 0º camber in all 4 wheels, softest springs in the front of the car, and much stifer springs at the rear of the car.
4th - Practice, practice and more practice and have while you're practicing.

Where are you from Roger? Maybe we can meet and drift for a while. Usually I race at Monsanto track and some other times near the docks. Let me know.
