I suppose you are talking about the toothpaste tube grease. I just smeared as much as I could. It's mainly needed at the differentials and spur gear area. Should be enough. I have some remaining if you run out. Most others should have also. But should be enough lah. Just make sure it's smooth after greasing.
If your set is TT-01D, it would come with this flat blue box with Tamiya AW grease for the inside of your differentials. That would be a little different.

Well, I think the AW(anti wear) grease from Tamiya is probably not the same as the car grease most others use to lock differentials. For the AW grease, I just put half in the front and half in the back differential (the gear system in the differential). Never heard of locking differential before that, so that's why. But I also don't think the AW grease in TT-01D can lock up the differential. But I am not sure. As for using car grease to lock differentials, you can just do a search on the forum about what others do. I have never put car grease in mine (partly cos Im lazy, don't wanna take my diff apart again!) but it still drifts fine. I would recommend stock settings but you can try the grease thing if you want. May be difficult to remove if you don't like it. But I am not sure. Oops... hope I didn't confuse you?? ;D ;D ;D If need clarifications can PM me but I have no experience with car grease.

heavy greasing u achieve a semi lock. how much grease is roughly how much u lock it. if u talking performance wise, i'm not sure about that, but haven seen anyone use solid axle full lock for back b4.

For TT01 when building it try to use as little grease on other parts as possible, only grease the parts like the axles IF U ARE USING PLASTIC WASHERS. The rest leave it dry to have less drag.
Try not to lock the rear diff. The reason pls look around in the fourm. Sorry for the inconvices.
