got anyone tried drifting with electric tape over the pvc tires. Would it be easier to drift that way?

hm.. cuz of friction.. and pvc's too hard.. so it sorta hop a bit.. cre8-ting a 'krraaak' sound..
bryant mentioned usin normal rubber tyrez.. itz easier.. tried b4.. (easier thn pvc that is)
but i still prefer pvc too! ;D ;D

because pvc is harder so if wrap electrical tape around it will get more grip than pvc but will be harder than wrapping electrical tape around rubber tires right?

Totally agreed with Bryant. Grip for drifting? what for! Lol Isnt it good to go side way allllllll the way...heheh
Limit the pvc and change to different tires on every ground will just limit your level of drifting thus being stagnant. Control your Car and not let the Car nor the PVC control you. okok end of my nonsense blabbering! Lol

my opinion and experience...
pvc for very rough surface like Serangoon MSCP top level...
smooth slippery surface such as those lower level MSCP(like the one at tampines) or HDB void deck, use tape...

i use tape over rubber tyres to drift on smooth tiles. PVC works but it actually still slides when you brake, unlike tape which has better control over smooth surface. Never tried tape over PVC tho.

ive tried drifting using pvc+electric tape... kewl coz i can handle most in almost every surface, i usually play on the basketball court in front of my house and it give such a grip but also drift effect..
my question is, although it drift, the moment it drifts is not too long, not like in SGDRifters videos.... my car is Kyosho ALpha 3, stock motor and ESC, hard sus front and medium sus rear, using pvc+tape, negative camber on four of the wheels... using stock alpha 3, 1400 nicd batt... is the setup correct?

With my time driftin' . Tape works fine for parking lots with rough areas. Pvc works great. But if just for fun try getting a set of yokomos tires. Diff setting of camber and toe with give traction diff notice. But like people said..."diff set ups for diff cars"

if we use tape for parking lots, it won't last more than 2 minutes. Torn up, sticky and all that. Any rubber content drift tyre requires tons of torque to make a decent drift and looking at performance over costs, PVC is more superior. Tight turns ability, great control and low cost factors are simply unbeatable and these applicable to all EP drift cars regardless individuality's setup.
