2 methods to solve your problem
Firstly, buy a battery with a larger capacity eg. 4300mah... your runtime would go over an hour to around 2 hours...
Secondly, buy a better charger, i charge my 4300mah battery in around 45 mins only

SO not very true for real cars, we have aftermarket parts for r/c cars, we can use parts from other brands. Example would be like things like rims, shafts, motors... and etc. for the R/C car problem, jus like real cars,u can onli look for the parts from the same manufacturer.tamiya to tamiya,HPI to HPI,yokomo to yokomo.=)

is mercedes an aftermarket brand? Since when? IS motor, servo and esc considered to be external? I don't think so If u wanna talk about hop-ups, i think stuff like ball bearings, springs and shocks are quite universal too. no need to argue or further discuss here.
both of you defined parts differently.
motor, esc and assorted electronics; and rims, wheels etc are GENERALLY (NOT all the time) able to be used across different chassises.
as for hop ups like shafts, belts, steering sets etc; you need to ascertain compatability with your chassis. there are some 3rd party hop ups that can fit certain chassis - such as the Hobao Alu Oil Shocks which can fit tt-01s but personally, i much rather buy 'official' manufacturer hop ups designed for the chassis.
this is to make sure that gloves2ali's question is answered before discussion veers off course.
cheers. ;D
p/s: gloves2ali, based on what i deduced frm ur post, i believe ur bro-in-law's kit is like the toy kind - i.e. from Nikko or China brands? it might be helpful if u can list the brand and chassis name so we can better help u out here.

Duhz. Thats's why i asked what chassis. U are not helping either. no need to argue or further discuss here. both of you defined parts differently. motor, esc and assorted electronics; and rims, wheels etc are GENERALLY (NOT all the time) able to be used across different chassises. as for hop ups like shafts, belts, steering sets etc; you need to ascertain compatability with your chassis. there are some 3rd party hop ups that can fit certain chassis - such as the Hobao Alu Oil Shocks which can fit tt-01s but personally, i much rather buy 'official' manufacturer hop ups designed for the chassis. this is to make sure that gloves2ali's question is answered before discussion veers off course. cheers. ;D

er if i am not wrong the chassis is very look alike to TB-01.. and it really look like toy kind lor.. my brother in law actually just buy a body shell to cover so it wont look so fake as the original shell is very fake as in the color and paint work not very nice.. the chassis,Transmitter and motor all olso look very budget one lol but the sales person told my brother in law dat this can be modify like outside brand, HPI etc etc.. so he bought it @ $180..

errr... that doen't look like a tb-01... it is 4WD? If yes, then it's still possible to drift with it. Just put on some PVCs...
