SG DRIFTERS RC DRIFT SERIES
Objective
To promote the general public about the new segment of Remote Control Car racing which has been predominately ruled by conventional circuit racing and off road buggy racing.
Rules & Regulations
Controller
Any controller is free to use (FM & AM frequency are allowed)
All frequency have to be registered with the organizers of minimum 3 days before each competition.
Chassis
Any brand chassis is free to use.
Carbon fibre parts on the chassis are free to use.
All chassis must be equipped with foam in the front for impact reduction during mishap.
All chassis have to be registered with the organizers before the start of the series and any competitor found to swap the chassis during the series will be disqualified.
Bodyshell
Any brand bodyshell is free to use.
Lighting kit for the bodyshell is free to use.
All competitors must register their bodyshell with the organizers before the start of the series and no swapping of different bodyshells during the series. (Example, if you are registered with a Yokomo AE86 Trueno shell, you have to use that shell for the entire series, if you have a damage shell, you are free to change the shell to a new one, but yet again the same design of Yokomo AE86 bodyshell)
Tyres
Only PVC Tyres are allowed.
Other tyres ABS, Taped, Rubber or any forms of RC tyres are not allowed.
Judging Criteria
Single Drift
There will be a total of 6 corners in every round. 3 Corners will be judged based on the proximity of the back of the car as close to the designated wall as possible. Another 3 corners will be judged based on the proximity of the front of the car as close to the designated pylons as possible.
A maximum of 10 points will be awarded for each corner. 6 Corners will resulted in a total of 60 points.
Points of 1 will be deducted if the entry speed is slow on the 1st corner, spun out, crash into the barrier, and under steer.
Every competitor will be given 2 rounds per turn to qualify for the Super Sixteen (Twin Drift). Before the 2 rounds, official practice time will be given at 3 rounds for each competitor.
Tsusio (Twin Drift Battle)
Only the top 16 competitors of the points accumulated from the Single Drift will be able to qualify for the Tsusio (Twin Drift Battle).
Car Pairing will be as such the the highest Point accumulated competitor which is the no. 1 ranking driver will pair with the No. 9 ranking driver, the no. 2 ranking driver will pair with the no. 10 ranking driver, the no. 3 ranking driver will pair with the no. 11 ranking driver, so on and so fore.
During the competition, the points given to the competitors will be based on the 60 points system as per the single drift layout. However during the first run, the lead car will continue for the 6 corners while the chase car will also try to accumulate points in the corners, while trying to keep within distance with the lead cars to accumulate an additional of 10 points for proximity. During the second round, the lead car will become the chase car and the 1st run chase car will become the 2nd run lead car. The points system applies and the 2nd run chase car will be allocate 10 points proportionally depending on the proximity to the lead car.
