Hi guys,
Now contemplating to get a new ride, an choosing between the 2, as both are running on belts( just wanna feel difference with shafts ). Can anyone enlighten which is a better buy, in terms of performance and spare parts maintenance costs. Any infos will be very much appreciated.

i would say Ta05 as it is a new car and parts will be easily available. Also its a newer design and its by TAMIYA!!!! no one can argue with tamiya.. i think Trixxdjmixxer is selling a hopped up TA05.

tamiya parts are much more cheaper hpi parts.. heard tt theres a problem with sprint 2 belts also.. if u wanna go for hpi, try cyclone s instead..

i think both ta-05 and sprint 2 are good cars. but as ah hai mentioned i suggest you consider cyclone s instead of the sprint 2. the cyclone s rocks ;D!
the cyclone s shares the same design as the cyclone but with cheaper parts. so if/when you hop-up you can buy the same components as what's used in the cyclone. yupz the hop-ups are more expensive than the ones for ta-05, but they're really good quality and i think they're worth every cent.
so, if you're the type who likes to hop-up a lot, at the end of the day you'll end up with the cyclone (though it's more expensive to do it this way). but with the ta-05 if you intend to get a lot of hop-ups my personal feel is that the trf415 will be a better investment.
taising provides EXCELLENT parts support for the hpi and hotbodies cars. you can find practically ALL the parts you may need for the cyclone s there. to me this is an important consideration. one of the reasons why i didn't choose a yokomo chassis.
btw there's a new "drift version" of the cyclone s, only difference besides the bodyshell seems to be that they're using "street-style" rims and hpi drift tyres. not worth the price diff if you're gonna be switching them to e.g. speedmind rims with pvc tyres.

ta-05 and cyclone s are both on simmilar standards i believe.. main difference is cost.. both cars start out at roughly the same price.. BUT.. hpi spare/hop up parts cost is almost double in price compared to tamiya ones..
