Hey Drifters, I'm sure everyone who's been to the Serangoon Drift Meets notice a problem...when drifters hit the track material, it moves. I'm guilty of that at times... It gets pretty bad when many drifters hit the same area and the track totally changes. Causing obstacles and barriers along the way too... Some suitable solutions include : 1) Drifters guilty of banging the materials quickly return the track to the original material...( some do, some don't...kudos to those who do!) 2) Put more weight on top so that it does not move... 3) Tape them ( not viable as it will be very meticulous ) 4) Keep close to the track...drift like a pro! ( which would be in The Ideal World..hehee... ) So while I was walking back, an idea hit me...why not combine a material which was previously used in Serangoon with something else? This rubber material was succesful in a sense that, it doesn't move a whole darn lot. But I'm pretty sure it takes up a lot of sweat juz to lay them out! hehe... So here goes, the proposal... Corner markers on top... The rubber only exists at the corner markers...meaning lesser heavy material... The wire casing will be secured by various fastening stuff available at DIY stores... The illustration says all i hope... Comments are definitely welcome... Hope this thing works! ;D

50% of the time i move it back manually, another 50% of the time I use my car to push the track back. ;d Nice idea zul, but using duct tape to secure might be an idea. However, do note that some drifters (newer ones) tend to lose control and their cars can fly off track. At such speed, those wirecasings mights break. Or will it?

it won't...trust me on this..highly durable....worst case scenario wld be the casing flies off...maybe to counter this, could add some padding by the side? or maybe it's slanted so the cars go over it and no into it..

comments:
The markers r hollow in the center if i not wrong. So rather den putting the casing ontop of the markers, y nt put it below to let the markers sit onto the casing, provide more resistance toward crashes. ;D ;D ;D

yeah...either way goes..top or bottom...
top...make the corners more stable...
bottom...well..the whole weight make the casings stick to the ground...
I think I prefer bottom, just that, the markers will look lob-sided! haha..whatever lah me, function over looks just for once!

OKay.. gotta say something here. .. Gotta give a little background the casings.. .. Zul.. You guys got the casings only or do you have the red (right angle) corner markers.. not the disc/frisbee ones but the rug ones? the rationale behind this is.. on straights.. the trunking (which are top and bottom) are connected simply by sliding them into each other.... the corners are marked by the large rug markers... if i'm not mistaken the trixxtraxx are only the cable trunks .. and the plastic round corners .. ok the following pictures are the first trial versions of casings.. i don't think i have pics of the later layouts.. in the later usages.. the casings were placed UNDER the red angle rugs..and the red rugs are normal welcome mats.. but we had inteded to use the kind with suction cups at the bottom.. we also tend to use the bottom casings just after a corner.. because this is where spinouts most commonly occur.. now the bottom casings are quite flush to the ground so there is usually no problems running over it.. now all of it coupled together.. anchored corners.. tied angles and all that put together willnormally hold out to spinouts.. besides.. that was how we learned to drift.. because Al and me too lazy.. we "automatically" at that time got better so don't need to walk around rearrange the track.. these are about the only pictures i have of them in use.. from about a year plus (maybe two) back... forgive the quality.. bad lightning.. and it was almost 3 in the morning when we did ths [edit] pictures were electronically dated 15 March 2005 [/edit]

Well we do not have anything to begin with, the rubber corner markers will be getting from Bryant after Big Boyz Toyz...the wire casings will try to salvage from our households or rip em apart without our family noticing maybe? haha..
Anyway, there's another idea posted by Ken at the Simei Drift Meet i think that's pretty cool as well...the whole thing abt this is that, it's sturdy and easily adjustable at the same time..
We'll see how things go!

my turn 1) u can put not slip mat below the trunking 2) taping is tedious but its a one time thing... once tape it will be more secure... unless a joker hit it quite bad la
