I got 2 suggestions
1. Abolish the karma system, or only allow moderators and seniors on the forum to give. Reason: I find that it is not efficient and some people who do not post mysteriously do good to his forum and gain karma
2. Members to update WTS and WTB threads and posts and be responsible. i.e Editing post to say that it is sold or reserved or also create a new post for the case of WTS to let people know that so and so has been sold or reserved. i.e If SOMEHOW YOU HAVE AGREED TO RESERVE SOME PARTS FOR 1 PERSON, THEN AGREE TO ANOTHER PERSON. DO be reponsible to LET either of the party know that you have made a mistake and that you are unable to complete the sales with him/her. Do not leave us hanging on the cliff, rejecting phone calls then saying you cant sell because you have reserved for another person too. Reason: I spent a long time looking for an ATM machine at serangoon to withdraw money to help my friend collect some tt01 parts frm someone, I smsed and called him , he picked up , said something and engaged the call. That's very disgusting.

hey jakebmx. wrong thread.
yes i agree with eclipse. too many people have been getting negative karma for no obvious reason even though they have been helping out alot. so create the karma system so that mods can edit it, or abolish it completely.

I don't know if I'm posting this in the right thread...but hey, its a suggestion.
I was thinking lately and I realized that we've only got track drifting, is it possible if we drift "Touge-style"?
And since our polytechnic members have got drift CCAs, why not try promoting R/C Drifting to the Secondary Schools?

You can ask your teacher in charge to email me for support on starting one in Secondary Schools

Another suggestion : We could do away with the karma system , and put inplace a feedback/testimonial system. Like in Yahoo! Auctions and Ebay, postive and negative feedbacks.I think that is a much fairer way to judge who's helpful, who's not .

i think a testimonial system as an addon system would be a good idea for the forum

Actually I don't judge people on the karma points they got. I dunno if most others do. If you frequent the site you should know who are troublemakers. If they really do post flaming posts I'm sure they'd be weeded out by the mods.
Thus, there may be no need for a karma system and by converting it to a feedback system, we may just be changing from one little used system to another little used system. Why not take it out all together?

However, the karma and testimonials/feedback service provides the newbies or less frequent visitors a chance for comparison. I believe it is still helpful in certain ways.

However, the karma and testimonials/feedback service provides the newbies or less frequent visitors a chance for comparison. I believe it is still helpful in certain ways. Testimonial/feedback would be probably highly effective, few loopholes to be exploited. Just check it out, my karma has been fluctuating between 0 and 4 for the past few days. Not that i care even if it goes down to -100. I do believe I have not done anything wrong apart from reminding others that they posted a post in the wrong thread, or not to use any vulgarities. Neither do I bang people's cars hard. To add on, a new section called feedbacks could be made. Each member will have a thread there with his/her name. People can post negative or positive feedbacks there. And if there's any miscommunication or misunderstandings, it can be worked out from there. Ps: To add on, while typing this post, i got smited again. If you love to smite me, PM me the reason and we'll see where the problem lies at. I know who you are too To illustrate what i mean The above picture is from my own private forum for my other hobby, I created that specially for this suggestion, the names there are just opposite of some of our nicks. That aside, that's what i meant.

just some thoughts on the feedback system, 1. wont it make the forum pretty cluttered since we have so many members? also, i think there maybe quite a few sleeper accts (those who seldom log on) which dun require feedback. 2. will it encourage flaming? and increase workload for mods? all in all, it may be better to just do away with the karma thingy altogether. as for whether newbies have anything to evaluate or compare by, i believe they should do so by ascertaining whatever information that has been given to them with what is on the forums. also when they read often enough, they should know who is making sense and who is not. and this is slightly off topic, but i advise all newbies to always double check info given to you with other forum posts.

A - d e- h and so on? or rather, active members to create their own threads there?

I don encourage flaming on forum.
This is a Warning to those who are cheating on Karma, if you feel that smite have to give to that person, ONCE is ENOUGH. For those who have send more then one Karma to the same person within one day will be given a warning for each extra Karma given. Unless you can explain to me why.
If there is any disagreement btw both party, pls don keep it to yourself. Can PM me or the Mods, we can come out for coffee and talk things out.
PLS DON GIVE OTHERS SMITE KARMA IF HE HAD BANGED YOUR CAR.
P.S. for Team members! Pls also stop flooding your own team members karma.
All Karma posted will only be able to access by admin and senior mods.

Glad to see that the entire karma fiasco has blown over with it being removed. (LOL..added a lame link as my signature to add karma..ended up with quite a few ++). Hope to see this forum become friendly and peaceful like the good old days..with no unwanted "drama".
BTW..Bryant..I think the forum time messed up again..its 1 hour faster.

Ya man. I'm glad . Mostly the younger members are abusing it, not knowing what they are doing is wrong, then when you tell them, they vent their frustration on you.

You have a nice web site here, but it is WAY to specific. You need a "General 1/10 Scale RC" forum, and a "1/10 drifter RC" topic... That way everything has its place. For istance I had to decide to post my TT-01 topic in the drift chassis. It does not qualify for that forum, it needs a diffrent category to fit in, so having a "General 1/10 Scale RC" and "1/10 Drifter RC" topic will allow for more posts.
